Argonauts
also known as the Argonauts, Argo
The heroes who sailed the Argo to Colchis to win the Golden Fleece. Their voyage dates the coming of Apollo to Delphi — myth's way of marking the precession of the vernal point into the age when the solar light reached Hellas.
Greek Argonautai — 'sailors of the Argo,' the ship Argo ('swift') + nautes (sailor).
