Emerald Tablet
also known as Tabula Smaragdina, Smaragdine Tablet
Compact Hermetic text — fewer than 300 words — said to have been inscribed on an emerald slab found by Alexander the Great in the tomb of Hermes. Source of the maxim "as above, so below." For a thousand years it was the alchemists' rosetta stone.
